When it comes to working and playing, you want to make sure your computer can do everything you need and more. And you’re in luck because Apple has just announced the release of their new MacBook Pro 14-inch (2022). It’s packed with all the features you know and love about previous models, plus it has several upgrades that help boost performance and efficiency, making this the perfect laptop for all your needs—from work to play.
The new MacBook Pro comes with Touch ID and a 7th Gen Intel Core i5 processor. Should you get it? There are three main areas that need to be addressed if you are considering an upgrade. Screen Size, Operating System and Processor Power. You need to make sure that these requirements are going to meet your needs. Once you have done your research, then make an informed decision. This is an in depth review which will give a detailed breakdown of what makes it worth purchasing. On top of that we will also look at how powerful it is compared to its competitors including other MacBooks from Apple and more from other brands such as HP, Dell and Asus.
Connectivity and I/O
The MacBook Pro features two USB 3.1 ports, a Thunderbolt 3 port, and a headphone jack that supports any pair of headphones you care to throw at it. It also has a built-in SDXC card slot. But as I’ve said before: If you buy an ultraportable laptop without Ethernet or USB Type A ports, what use do you have for SD cards? You don’t! It’s pretty silly to omit these on such an expensive machine.
Keyboard and Trackpad
When it comes to a laptop’s keyboard, size matters. The keys on a smaller laptop can be tinier and harder to press than on a big 17-inch model. Key travel is also important because you want to type comfortably without having your fingers hit bottom as you strike each key. In my testing, I was pleased with both of these aspects of the new MacBook Pro’s keyboard; it has deep key travel and large buttons that make typing easy. The new Touch Bar, meanwhile, provides easy access to function keys for functions like adjusting screen brightness or volume level. It also uses touch sensors for more advanced features such as emojis.
The new MacBook Pros offer solid battery life and support a wide range of graphics cards. While your mileage may vary depending on how much you work with your laptop open, if you’re only after pure portability, your best option is still going to be something like an iPad or Chromebook. That said, I found that I was consistently able to use my laptop for about 12 hours between charges. The number one question people have about these laptops isn’t answered anywhere on their spec sheets—it’s simple: do they last long enough to get stuff done? After a week with both models, I can say yes. Unless you’re doing something that demands extended use of your machine—like editing video or playing games—you should be fine.
WLAN, Bluetooth & NFC
With 802.11ac wireless, you can connect to wireless networks in more places than ever before, with a connection that’s faster and more reliable. With built-in Bluetooth® 4.2 technology, you can easily connect your Apple accessories. And with NFC it’s easy to instantly pair with other compatible devices and then tap them together to transfer information like web addresses or contact info. So no matter where your day takes you, you can get everything done on a single computer—and have more fun doing it.
Camera – Front & Back
A number of professionals have said that many people do not actually need more than a 13 display. Even though these professionals recommend it, they also say that if a person wants to upgrade their laptop, then they should consider going with at least a 15 display. The camera on both of these models is 8MP and has some cool features built in, such as face detection and smile detection. These features come standard and don’t cost extra; they are truly part of what makes these MacBooks so great. If you prefer one to another then look at which price is better for you when choosing between them. It’s just something else to think about as you make your decision between these two incredible laptops from Apple. You’re going to love whichever one you decide on!
