Is the New Apple MacBook Pro 14-inch (2022) Worth the Upgrade?

In my testing, I was pleased with both of these aspects of the new MacBook Pro’s keyboard; it has deep key travel and large buttons that make typing easy. The new Touch Bar, meanwhile, provides easy access to function keys for functions like adjusting screen brightness or volume level. It also uses touch sensors for more advanced features such as emojis.

Battery Life

The new MacBook Pros offer solid battery life and support a wide range of graphics cards. While your mileage may vary depending on how much you work with your laptop open, if you’re only after pure portability, your best option is still going to be something like an iPad or Chromebook. That said, I found that I was consistently able to use my laptop for about 12 hours between charges. The number one question people have about these laptops isn’t answered anywhere on their spec sheets—it’s simple: do they last long enough to get stuff done? After a week with both models, I can say yes. Unless you’re doing something that demands extended use of your machine—like editing video or playing games—you should be fine.
